Cascade Funding
One of BGE+’s main objectives is to scale up production and use of DNA barcode and genome sequence data. As such, researchers, institutions, and organisations across Europe will receive opportunities to participate, collaborate, and contribute to BGE+’s biodiversity goals through a comprehensive framework for a cascade grants mechanism that will select projects, monitor their implementation, and measure their impact.
Open Calls
BGE+ will publish a framework with the selection and evaluation criteria, as well as topic areas for the projects to be funded in conjunction with representatives across the project and the BGE+ Scientific Steering Board. This framework will facilitate the integration of new participants into the BGE+ distributed infrastructure, expanding the ERGA and iBOL Europe networks and enhancing data production and applications of reference genomes and barcodes for biodiversity research.
BGE+ will connect cascade-funded projects’ outputs with tasks across the BGE+ work programme, thus amplifying the impact of the individual funded projects.
