Sampling for the full-genome stream of BGE

BGE is way more than its official partners. Meet Johannes Bergsten, for example. He is senior curator at the Department of Zoology of the Swedish Museum of Natural History, and also a member of the community of sample “providers” that is supporting BGE’s full genome strand via ERGA’s open calls (now more about them here).

In this video, Johannes takes us to the shallow lakes of Gotland, the largest island in the Baltic Sea, in search of the really tiny, red-listed Hidroglyphus Hamulatus beetle. The specimens he collects are to be sequenced later for genome standard in BGE.
