Hamsters in Budapest!

Our colleagues from the Hungarian Natural History Museum provided insights into their ongoing BGE Hamster study with a presentation at the Small Mammal Taxon Advisory Group (TAG) mid-year meeting during the Pannonian Conservation session on May 15, 2024. The conference, hosted by the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden, was organized by the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) on behalf of the WAZA Committee for Population Management. The target audience included TAG (vice) chairs and colleagues with equivalent or related positions playing an active role in regional collection planning.

Above: More than 1600 participants attended the Voluntary Data Collection Day in Budapest.
