Building shared capacity at the European level
BGE impact
BGE is enhancing the capacity of the European genomics community to work at the transnational level, with long-term scientific impacts for biodiversity discovery, identification, conservation and monitoring, and wide potential to guide policy and practice for biodiversity protection and restoration.
The BGE project is a foundational joint step building shared capacity at the European level to accelerate the production of biodiversity genomic data and, ultimately, turn that data into genomic tools for effective biomonitoring, conservation and species recovery across the continent. BGE’s impact will therefore be both systemic and scientific, re-shaping the European landscape of genomics research and generating new tools and discoveries.
